Powder Alert: We Have Snow!!! (And It Just Keeps Coming)

If you have been waiting for the perfect time to head to Marquette Mountain, stop waiting and start packing your gear. The winter we have all been dreaming of has officially arrived, and to put it simply: We have snow!!!

While the falling flakes are beautiful to look at, the conditions on the hill are even better. Here is the lowdown on why right now is the best time to ride.

Crushing the Averages

We know the U.P. is famous for snow, but this season is something special. We aren’t just meeting the standard; we are burying it.

  • Seasonal Average to Date: ~80 inches
  • Current Snowfall Total: 100 inches (and counting!)

We are sitting comfortably at 20 inches above the seasonal average, and with the forecast showing more precipitation on the way, that base is only getting deeper.

Terrain Update: The East Side is Primed

Thanks to that massive 100-inch total, our base across the mountain is incredibly deep. However, the real highlight right now is the East Side.

For those who love the rugged, untreated feel of the mountain, the East Side runs on 100% natural snow. Conditions were so good that we were able to drop the rope on the East Side back on Tuesday, December 30th, and it has been skiing beautifully ever since.

Don’t Miss Out

Whether you are looking to carve fresh groomers on a deep base or hunt for powder stashes on the East Side, the mountain is in prime condition.

The snow is deep, the lifts are turning, and winter is in full swing. We’ll see you on the slopes!
