Our grooming team works nightly to ensure optimal surface conditions across our 170 acres. At Marquette Mountain Resort, your safety is our top priority. Navigating our 170 acres of diverse terrain requires a shared commitment to the safety of all guests. Whether you are exploring our backcountry glades or taking your first turns in the beginner area, please adhere to the Skier’s Responsibility Code and stay alert to changing mountain conditions.

  • Always stay in control and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
  • You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.
  • People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.
  • Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.

Our mountain operations team updates the daily snow report and trail conditions document every morning by 8:00 AM. In the event of significant lake-effect snowfall or changing weather conditions throughout the day, we provide real-time updates to the status board.

Our average ‘base depth’ typically ranges from 24 to 60 inches depending on the trail. This measurement refers to the packed snow and ice that forms the foundation of our skiable terrain, ensuring consistent coverage even between snowstorms.

Terrain park availability is subject to weather and daily maintenance. We prioritize safety and feature integrity; if we receive heavy snowfall, the park may close temporarily for grooming and hand-tooling. Check the live status board above for today’s park status.

‘Machine Groomed’ means our fleet of snowcats has worked the trails overnight to create a smooth, consistent ‘corduroy’ surface. This is ideal for carving and is generally the preferred surface for beginners and intermediate cruisers.

Yes! While we are known for our challenging technical terrain and lake-effect powder, we have dedicated beginner trails and a ski school specifically designed for those new to the sport. Look for the green circle icons on our trail map for the easiest routes.
