Get ready for one of the most highly anticipated weekends on the slopes! For the 28th consecutive year, Marquette Mountain Resort is thrilled to host the Hornbogen Memorial Ski Race on March 7th and 8th.

Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or an enthusiastic spectator, this premier Midwest skiing competition promises an unforgettable weekend of speed, skill, and community spirit.

Four Events, One Epic Weekend

What makes the Hornbogen Memorial Ski Race truly unique is its comprehensive format. It is one of the only events in the entire Midwest to challenge skiers across four distinct racing disciplines in a single weekend!

• Saturday, March 7: Downhill and Super G
• Sunday, March 8: Giant Slalom and Slalom

Sessions kick off at 9:00 am each day, giving athletes plenty of opportunity to showcase their skills. Thanks to Marquette Mountain’s multi-million dollar investment in state-of-the-art snowmaking infrastructure, you can expect optimal, high-quality racing conditions from the first run to the last. The Downhill event has a new and exciting course this season, don’t miss it!

Race for the Gold (and the Golden Chair!)

The Hornbogen Memorial welcomes skiers of all ages and abilities. Competitors will be racing for first-, second-, and third-place awards across all male and female age categories.

But the ultimate prize? The overall winners in each division will earn the prestigious honor of having their names inscribed on the legendary Golden Chair.

This weekend isn’t just about the thrill of the race; it’s about giving back to the winter sports community we love so much. The Hornbogen Memorial Ski Race proudly supports the Francine Malindzak Scholarship Fund and the Marquette Mountain Racing Team, helping to fund local scholarships and nurture the next generation of alpine racers.
