Spring Skiing, Shellfish & Sun:

Send Off the 2026 Season in Style at Marquette Mountain!

Sun on the Corduroy Slopes At Marquette Mountain Resort

There is a certain magic to spring in the U.P. The base is deep, the sun shines a little warmer on the slopes, and the spectacular views of Lake Superior are as crisp as ever. As we look toward the final stretch of the 2025-2026 winter season, Marquette Mountain is pulling out all the stops.

Whether you’re looking to carve some fresh corduroy, cheer on local racers, or simply kick back at the Tbar with a cold drink and live music, our spring lineup has something for everyone. Here is everything you need to know to close out the season with us!

March 7 & 8:
An Epic Weekend of Racing & Free-Heeling

Kick off the spring festivities with an action-packed double-header weekend! The mountain will be buzzing with energy, live music, and a full stocked outdoor bar to keep the apres-ski vibes rolling.

March 7:
World Telemark Day Meet-Up

Free the heel and join the Midwest telemark community for our annual meet-up! Spend the day dropping knees on the slopes, catching live tunes, and swapping stories at the outdoor bar. Live music from Acoustic Antics starts at 3 PM.

March 7 & 8:
28th Hornbogen Memorial Ski Race

One of the only events in the Midwest to challenge skiers across four distinct racing disciplines (Downhill, Super G, Giant Slalom, and Slalom) in a single weekend. Watch competitors battle it out for a chance to get their names inscribed on the legendary Golden Chair. It’s high-speed thrills for a great cause, with proceeds supporting local high school senior scholarships. We’ll have live music and an outdoor bar each day!

March 14:
Champagne & Oysters on the Half-Shell

Who says you can’t bring the coast to the Great Lakes? On Saturday, March 14, take a break from the slopes and step into the Tbar for an afternoon of pure vibe. We’re serving up freshly shucked oysters on the half-shell paired perfectly with champagne. Grab a seat, look out over the mountain, and treat yourself to the ultimate Soul of the UP après-ski experience.

March 20-22:
Spring Carnival

It wouldn’t be spring at Marquette Mountain without our legendary Spring Carnival. Running all weekend from March 20 to 22, this is the ultimate celebration of winter. Expect crazy costumes, thrilling competitions, an outdoor bar, and live music echoing across the slopes. From slopestyle and silly slaloms to the infamous slush cup, it’s a weekend of family-friendly fun and community spirit you won’t want to miss.

March 23:
Spring Season Hours Begin

Forget the crowded, corporate mega-resorts. Marquette Mountain Resort is the rugged, beating heart of U.P. winter—raw, authentic, and buried in legendary Lake Superior lake-effect snow. We’re an independent mountain with a massive soul, serving up steep drops, deep glades, and zero pretension. Whether you’re slashing fresh powder with a panoramic view of the big lake or lapping the terrain park, it’s all about the pure, unfiltered thrill of the ride. And when the lifts stop spinning? You’re exactly five minutes down the road from the best ski town in the Midwest.

As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer we transition into our Spring Season operating hours starting Monday, March 23. We’ll be open Thursday through Sunday so you can still get your weekend fix of U.P. adventure:

  • Thursday & Friday: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 8:00 pm
  • Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Come carve your own path.
