Hold Your Horses (and Bikes):

Summer Closures & Massive Lift Upgrades at Marquette Mountain

As the U.P. thaws out and that sweet hero dirt emerges, we know you’re all itching to get your tires muddy. We’re right there with you! But this summer, Marquette Mountain is trading mountain bikes for heavy machinery.

The short version: We are putting in a brand-new lift! (Keep your eyes peeled—we’ll be dropping all the juicy details about the new lift in soon!)

Because building giant mountain infrastructure is no joke, our bike park, hiking trails, and the Disc Golf Course will be closed for general use this summer. We know sitting on the sidelines is a huge bummer for our rugged trail junkies and visiting riders. But taking a breather this season means we can deliver a seriously dialed, next-level mountain experience for everyone in the years to come.

Keep Off the Dirt (Seriously)

For your safety and the sanity of our hard-hat crews, we need our local and visiting outdoor community to strictly follow these closures. Please DO NOT ride or hike our trails at any time this summer. The trails are going au naturel (meaning absolutely zero maintenance), and there will be heavy construction traffic, excavators, and utility vehicles roaming the mountain all summer and into the fall. You definitely do not want to play chicken with a bulldozer. Please respect the tape so we can get this epic new lift built safely.

Summer Events (When You CAN Get Your Fix)

While the daily grind is paused, we’re still stoked to support the community by hosting three major events:

  • June 25–28: Marquette Trails Fest (NTN Fundraiser)
  • July 31–August 2: Marquette Mountain Downhill (Downhill Midwest) > Heads up: The bike park and trails will ONLY be open to registered event racers during this weekend.
  • October 2–3: Marquette Fall Enduro (NTN Fundraiser)

Will I be able to just ride for fun during NTN events?

The bike park might be open to all riders during the NTN fundraiser events (Trails Fest and Fall Enduro), but that is still a firm “to be determined.” It totally depends on where we’re at with construction and what the trail conditions look like. We’ll keep you posted as those dates get closer.

Catch a Ride & The Views

Even if you can’t bomb down the hill, you can still float up it. We’ll be spinning the chairs for scenic lift rides so you can get your outdoor fix during these special events:

  • NTN Fundraiser Events (Trails Fest & Fall Enduro)
  • Art on the Mountain
  • Fall Fest

Thanks for being the best, most rugged community around. We appreciate your patience as we build something epic. See you on the mountain—just not on the bike trails!
